Inspired by the artist's poem: Homer has nothing on me. Self Love An odyssey. To break wide open into the sea. Teased by the rose. Her pins prick at me....
Inspired by the artist's poem:
Homer has nothing on me.
Self Love
An odyssey.
To break wide open into the sea.
Teased by the rose.
Her pins prick at me.
I have claimed this journey
Knowing the riches
I seek
Sit between the lips of my smile.
One of nine portraits, this was painted with a mission to explore the power of the feminine. Each flower honoring its historic meaning in the garden. Each woman embodying our moment, our time, our future.
I wanted to paint a woman in transformation. Meet Holly Moles, the face of Subrosa. In 2017, we found each other in a paddleboard yoga class. Now Holly is enjoying the famous pink quartz sands of Sarasota. In pursuit of her dreams she trained and became a certified Reiki healer and CBD expert. A magical soul who escaped the onslaught of Hurricane Irma to safer climbs but not before she made an everlasting impression on the artist. The work was hanging in 2018 in Wynwood in “The Power of Her” curated and represented by Tanya Brillembourg.
